We talked of starting at Littlehampton next week, so how about out through Mt Barker and Wistow, down to Callington and back through Callington etc.

I should add, 62km and 650m of climbing. Pretty gentle huh!

Last week it was definitely cooler towards the coast than it was inland. It was also overcast so the direct sun was not so much of a problem but it does not get any more exposed than Callington . Is it worth thinking about something closer to the coast say Willunga, Aldinga, Sellicks Hill, Pages Flat, Range view and down Penneys, or Wickhams Hills?

We had cloud cover last week on most of the course except on the Proctors Rd Yundi stetch. Then it really heated up. Do you think there would be less cloud near the coast?

David Dawson says:
Don't know what it's going to be like next Saturday but last saturday it was 28 degrees at Carrickalinga compared to 35 at Meadows because of the sea breeze. It could be a totally different situation this weekend but generally it is cooler at the coast than inland. I can't ride in the morning this week so any chance of cooler weather is appealing to me.

Jeffrey Schulz says:
Smokey if you post a easy ride for me, I will join you in the morning as long as it is not to far away.

Well,.....what about The Victory Hotel at Silver Sands, (main south Rd, south of Aldinga) and out to Normanville and Back via the Myponga dam.

Looks good! McLarenvale start I gather. Is everyone else happy with that??????

alistair muir says:
That means we can re-live Cadel's bid for victory along that dead and windy stretch of road from Mclaren Vale to Willunga...

David Dawson says:
Al, there is an alternative route along the bike path which feels a bit safer but is probably slower than the main road. Incidentally BOM has dropped the maximum down to 33 degrees with showers developing. Should be good.
